ADHD Assessment and Support
Comprehensive ADHD assessments and support for individuals who are seeking diagnosis and strategies for managing ADHD. Therapy can help clients develop effective coping skills and strategies for focus, time management, and emotional regulation.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy for processing trauma and distressing memories. EMDR is particularly effective for individuals who have experienced PTSD, childhood trauma, or other significant emotional experiences.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Therapy
Specialized therapy for individuals with OCD, focusing on managing intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. We use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to reduce the impact of OCD on your life.
Therapy for Work-Related Injuries
As a SIRA-accredited provider, I am fully qualified to assist individuals on Workers Compensation claims, offering tailored therapeutic interventions that support both the psychological and physical aspects of recovery. Whether you're dealing with post-injury trauma, workplace stress, or recovery from a physical injury, I am committed to helping you regain your health and confidence while working with your treatment team and employer to facilitate a smooth and effective return to work.
Treatment Approaches
At The Quiet Refuge, we draw on several therapeutic techniques to create a holistic, individualized treatment plan for you. Some of the approaches we use include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A practical approach to therapy that focuses on changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. CBT helps you develop healthier thinking patterns and coping strategies.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): A powerful therapy used to process trauma and disturbing memories by using guided eye movements. EMDR is particularly effective for PTSD and trauma-related disorders.
Mindfulness and Meditation: We incorporate mindfulness practices to help you stay present, manage stress, and improve emotional regulation. These techniques are designed to enhance your ability to respond to challenges calmly and effectively.
Person-Centered Therapy: A compassionate, non-directive approach where the focus is on understanding your perspective and supporting you in your journey toward healing and self-empowerment.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): A therapeutic approach that helps you embrace your thoughts and feelings rather than fight against them, while also focusing on taking committed action toward living a fulfilling life.
How It Works
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to guide you. Here’s what you can expect when you choose to work with us:
Initial Consultation: The first step is to schedule an initial consultation. This session is an opportunity to discuss your needs, challenges, and goals.
Ongoing Sessions: We will set up ongoing therapy sessions based on your needs. Therapy can be short-term or long-term, depending on your goals. Sessions are typically 50 minutes and can be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly, or as needed.
Therapy Tools and Techniques: Throughout therapy, I will provide you with tools and strategies that you can apply to your daily life. You may be given exercises, worksheets, or recommendations for mindfulness practices or journaling to deepen the work we do together.
Flexible Online Sessions: All sessions are held online, making it convenient and flexible for you to access therapy from the comfort of your home or wherever you feel most at ease.
Pricing and Packages
Investing in your mental health is an important step, and we offer transparent pricing for our services. Below are our standard fees:
Individual Therapy Session: $180 per session (note, the current Medicare rebate under a mental health care plan is $96.65, making the out-of-pocket cost per session $83.35)
Couples Therapy Session: $200 per session (unfortunately, there is no Medicare rebate available for couples therapy at this time)
Work Comp/SIRA Session: $259.90 per initial session and $217 per each subsequent session (note we charge the insurer directly and there is no out-of-pocket cost for you)
ADHD Assessment: Unfortunately Medicare does not offer rebates for ADHD testing at this time. Typically, three sessions are required to gather enough information to provide an ADHD diagnosis. The cost would be $540. Please note, this would not include any report, only the diagnosis. A report can be requested and charged separately (at $180 per hour).
